Peace Love Stim Inc was founded on the belief that neurodivergent voices should lead the way in community advocacy.

 

Our journey began with a vision to create safe, sensory-friendly spaces where adults and children with Autism and ADHD could truly belong. By someone with Autism/ADHD for those with Autism & ADHD.

I’m Jessie Sala and this is my Autism journey: 

 

Guess what? I didn’t speak until I was 3.  I was finally diagnosed with Autism and ADHD at age 7 in a time when Autism wasn't as understood as it is now. My parents fought like heck to get me services and the help I needed. 

 

Growing up I was in special ed classes, and my parents doing everything they could to help me growing up: going through endless trips to Therapists, doctors, psychiatric doctors, speech and occupational therapies including ABA, the odds were stacked against me. 

 

Bullied, I sat alone at lunches and did not have many friends growing up; which started my love for animals and plush collecting as a special interest. It didn't stop me from finding the joy in other aspects of life. 

 

I understand all too well the struggles of being different in a world that values conformity. 

 

 But I fought through two suicide attempts, medications that failed me and I fought school systems who wouldn't give me a chance. Through it all

though I never gave up. I graduated college with a 3.85 GPA, got married, bought a home, and always kept one core belief close to my heart:

​Now, I am officially the FIRST fully Autistic person to FOUND and be PRESIDENT of a 501(c)(3) non-profit in the state of Arizona: Peace Love Stim Inc.

 

​Too often, adults with ADHD or those deemed with Autism as to "high functioning" are lacking services and we are "aging out" of services.  Let’s face it we aren’t “cute kids” and we aren’t low functioning enough for traditional day programs either. We are the “grey area” of Autism, the forgotten aspect of the spectrum.

 

But let’s get one thing straight: Low support needs does NOT equal not needing support.

 

 I've struggled my entire life, but some of my hardest struggles become great victories and opportunities. 

 

THAT'S WHAT I WANT FOR ALL AUTISTIC AND ADHD children and adults.

 

We are building an Autistic-owned and operated support hub. A space for peer-led support ; by us, for us.

 

Educational seminars, caregiver groups, social events, and Sensory Mitigation Bags to local small businesses right here in Casa Grande Arizona to make shopping & living here TRULY INCLUSIVE for ALL MEMEBERS OF OUR COMMUNITY.
